Frequently Asked Questions

How does STUD 100 work?

The active ingredient, lidocaine, acts as a local anaesthetic reducing the sensitivity of the penis just before intercourse. The reduction in sensitivity helps to delay ejaculation (climax) in cases of over-rapid or premature ejaculation (coming to a climax too quickly).

How to use STUD 100?

For external use only. Spray STUD 100 on the head and shaft of the penis between 5 and 15 minutes before intercourse, to allow time for it to become absorbed. The recommended dose is between 3 to 8 sprays, but aim to use the minimum number which is effective for you. Do not use more than 24 spray doses in 24 hours.

The product should be washed off after intercourse. The product should not be used repeatedly for more than 3 months without medical supervision.

Do not use on broken or inflamed skin.

Where do I spray STUD 100?

STUD 100 is for external use only. Spray on the head and shaft of the penis.

How long does STUD 100 last?

Effects may last up to 90 minutes but please note that times may vary for everyone.

Is STUD 100 safe for women?

STUD 100 is only indicated for use in men. Possible transfer of STUD 100 to the female partner could occur during intercourse. However, this is likely to be a very small amount and the amount of absorption of lidocaine, the active ingredient, is likely to be very low. Nevertheless, as a precaution, STUD 100 is not recommended for use by men with a female partner who is pregnant.

How long will one canister of STUD 100 last for?

Each 12g spray can contains enough STUD 100 for about 160 sprays. Do not use STUD 100 after the expiry date which is stated on the can. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Are there any side effects?

Like all medicines, STUD 100 can cause side effects in some people. Occasional skin irritation or rash may occur following use of STUD 100.

If you or your partner develop a rash or irritation, stop using the spray. The levels of lidocaine in the blood after using STUD 100 at the maximum recommended dose are extremely low. Very high blood levels of lidocaine (25 times higher than the level after using STUD 100 at the maximum recommended dose) could cause side effects such as nervousness, dizziness, convulsions, loss of consciousness, as well as effects on the heart and lungs.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any possible side effects not listed on this website or pack leaflet. You can report side effects to Key Pharmaceuticals at otc@keypharm.com.au
